Feb 16, 4:45pm, HSC 1116: Susan Jankowski -Real Expectations in Bankruptcy Law
We will be joined by Bankruptcy Paralegal, Susan Jankowski. Ms. Jankowski will speak to students about the real expectations of law firms and courts, with an emphasis on bankruptcy law.
Feb 24, 5pm, HSC 1311: Damon Fisch “How to Act Civilly in an Adversarial Profession.”
Mr. Fisch will lead a discussion regarding the 2007 Survey on Professionalism that was conducted by the Illinois Supreme Court. The focus of the presentation will be how paralegals deal with unprofessional situations. He will use real orders, pleadings and correspondence to demonstrate the legal process as well as discuss the Illinois Supreme Court Rule 201(k) regarding discovery issues in litigation.
March 3, 5pm, SRC 3060 (Library)- Christine Kickels- Using the law library for research
Ms. Kickels is the COD librarian in charge of the legal reference section of COD’s library. She will be speaking to students on about how to conduct research in a law library research.
You do not need to be a member of the College of DuPage Paralegal Club to attend the meetings.
