Congratulations to our own Linda Jenkins! Linda has just been named the 2012-2013 Outstanding Part-Time Faculty Member for Business and Technology! Linda does so much to make the Paralegal Studies Program and the Paralegal Club here at COD second to none, and this honor is richly deserved. Here is the announcement:
Divisional Outstanding Part-Time Faculty
Linda Jenkins, Paralegal Instructor, Business & Technology Division
If Linda Jenkins isn’t in the classroom teaching a Paralegal Writing or Bankruptcy Law class, she is probably getting ready for a meeting of the COD Paralegal Club, or the newly formed LEX Paralegal Honor Society. She devotes her own time to helping coordinate guest speakers at club meetings, assisting the group with planning fundraising activities and group events, attending Saturday morning meetings of the club officers, and leading field trips to the DuPage County Courthouse. Linda serves as a mentor to students in the club, as well as students in her classes. Not only is Linda mentoring students, she can also be found mentoring new adjunct faculty.
She is also always willing to share her knowledge and expertise with current faculty, and has presented professional development sessions at paralegal faculty meetings. She is also always willing to review new textbooks, been part of hiring committees, and provided valuable input regarding the selection of new Paralegal adjunct faculty.
Linda takes her classroom duties seriously, and is constantly creating new assignments to develop her students’ writing skills. In addition to working tirelessly for the program and for the students, Linda does it all with a smile on her face and a cheerful, warm disposition that causes students to gravitate towards her. College of DuPage’s outstanding reputation is due, in large part, to dedicated adjunct faculty like Linda Jenkins, who put in extra time, effort, and care to enrich the student experience at COD.
