Join us as we give back by packing meals to feed hungry kids! This is a hands-on opportunity to do something about world hunger. Feed My Starving Children is a non-profit Christian organization committed to feeding hungry children around the world. Volunteers hand-pack meals that are specially formulated for malnourished children. FMSC then sends the food to some of the neediest countries, including Haiti and North Korea. Check out their website at fmsc.org.
Many church, civic, and business groups regularly volunteer at FMSC. The DuPage County Bar Association’s Lawyers Lending a Hand group packed meals in the past. COD Paralegal Club did a shift in the Fall 2013, and it was such a fun, rewarding experience. You can earn two LEX hours for participating in this service project.
We have reserved 20 spots for two separate shifts on February 15, 2014. Children over age 5 and other family members are welcome to join us. In order to attend, you must RSVP by February 01, 2014, to firstname.lastname@example.org. FMSC does not require donations in order to volunteer, but we would like to suggest a $2 donation per person. The donations help to pay for the raw materials that make up the meals. You are not obligated to donate.
Please do not reserve a spot and fail to show up for the shift. Empty spaces mean fewer meals packed. If fewer meals are packed, more children go hungry.
As this event takes place off campus, it is not an officially-sponsored COD Paralegal Club event. Neither the COD Paralegal Club nor COD is responsible for the safety of attendees.
