Please join us on Wednesday, February 12, at 4:45 p.m., in BIC 1402, to hear the multimedia journalist, lecturer, and media consultant Ms. Mary Mares-Awe talk about Social Media Marketing Skills.
Ms. Mares-Awe is a Mass Communication instructor at College of DuPage. She teaches courses such as Social Media as News, Broadcasting in the Global Environment, and Introduction to Mass Communication. Her work and studies have brought Ms. Mares-Awe to New York, Prague, London, Belgium, and Germany. As a recipient of the prestigious Fulbright Award in 2010-2011, she taught graduate and undergraduate-level courses in journalism and media communication at the Cyril and Methodius University in Macedonia.
Ms. Mares-Awe has a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Master’s Degree in Communication from the University of Illinois. She has worked for several well-known news organizations, including Fox News, CBS News, King World Entertainment, Tribune Broadcasting, and NBC radio. She has also written and produced multimedia projects for Pfizer Pharmaceutical, the Bank of America Chicago Marathon, and the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (Medicare). Internationally, Ms. Mares-Awe has produced content for Deutsche Welle Radio, and the U.S. Armed Forces Network. She consults on media strategy and communication to NGOs, and public and private organizations.
