Join us as we give back by packing meals to feed hungry kids! This is a hands-on opportunity to do something about world hunger. Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) is a non-profit Christian organization committed to feeding hungry children around the world. FMSC then sends the food to some of the neediest countries. The COD Paralegal Club partnered with FMSC to provide meals for hungry children in other countries. Volunteers hand-packed meals that were specially formulated for malnourished children. We volunteered (and wore hair nets!) at three packing sessions at FMSC’s packing facility in Aurora. Paralegal Club helped feed 192 children for a year!
We have reserved 15 spots for one session on October 11, 2014, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Children age 10 and over, and other family members are welcome to join us. In order to attend, you must RSVP by September 27, 2014, to Jackie Freeman at freemanj87@dupage.edu. FMSC does not require donations in order to volunteer, but we would like to suggest a $2 donation per person. The donations help to pay for the raw materials that make up the meals. You are not obligated to donate.
Please do not reserve a spot and fail to show up for the shift. Empty spaces mean fewer meals packed. If fewer meals are packed, more children go hungry.
As this event takes place off campus, it is not an officially-sponsored COD Paralegal Club event. Neither the COD Paralegal Club nor COD is responsible for the safety of attendees.
