Abigail Lenz, from Neal & McDevitt, specializing in TRADEMARKS, and Cindi Schermerhorn, a PATENT paralegal, from Akzo Nobel, Inc., will speak on the specialized field of patents and trademarks.

Abby Lenz is currently working at Neal & McDevitt, a boutique law firm specializing in intellectual property and marketing law.  Abby has worked for Neal & McDevitt for 4 years, since receiving her B.A. from Northeastern Illinois University.  Abby’s focus is trademarks and she is experienced in trademark prosecution, enforcement, litigation and global portfolio management.  In her free time, Abby enjoys fitness, reading, and cooking.

Cindi Schermerhorn is currently working for Akzo Nobel, Inc. as Senior IP Paralegal.  She has 25 years of IP experience.  Experience in patent prosecution (mainly foreign IP law), trademark prosecution, searches and database updates and reporting.  Akzo Nobel is a Netherlands corporation with a large IP portfolio.  The North America branch maintains all of the U.S., Canada and Mexican IP portfolio.  Cindi’s outside interests are Chicago Symphony, Paramount Theater and knitting.
