Cristiana Jacobs and others from the DuPage County Bar Association were pictured in a recent issue of the DCBA Brief for their work with the Northern Illinois Food Bank on January 27, 2015.
They were repackaging individual oatmeal packets that had been incorrectly labeled as gluten-free. Instead of the company throwing all of this food away, they tore the packets open and put them in larger correctly–labeled oatmeal bags.
Judge Paul Marchese and former DCBA Executive Director Eddie Wollenberg spearheaded the event.
Below is a color picture of the volunteers at work and a black-and-white duplicate as it appeared in the DCBA Brief.
Pictured are (L to R): Jay Laraia and his son, Cristiana Jacobs, Alex (we are not sure of her last name), Alyssa Rabulinski, and Patti Burnhart .
Cristiana says about her participation: “The biggest gift for me is feeling good about giving the biggest gift, which is doing good!”
Great job, Cristiana! You provide a terrific example of service to the community!
