Interim Litigation Paralegal – Trial in Delaware

Major, Lindsey & Africa LogoMajor, Lindsey & Africa’s Interim Legal Talent group has an immediate need for an Interim Litigation Paralegal for one of its clients.  The paralegal will assist with preparation for a trial scheduled to start in January 2019.  Candidates must be able to travel domestically to attend the trial on January 8th.  This position is expected to run through mid-January.


  • Providing the highest level of litigation paralegal support to associates and partners;
  • Assisting with case management, strategy, and progression;
  • Utilizing various software applications to manage documents and facilitate the discovery process;
  • Cite-checking, Shepardizing, Bluebooking, and proofreading pleadings and briefs;
  • Pretrial activities including assessing needs for trial and witness books;
  • Organizing  trial exhibits;
  • Arranging witness attendance at trial;
  • Preparing charts/graphs to be used at trial;
  • Trial activities including attending and assisting at trial by monitoring documents and evidence;
  • Assuring presence of witnesses;
  • Preparing and monitoring visual aids;
  • Taking notes on testimony;
  • Tracking of exhibits introduced and marked into evidence; and
  • Digesting trial transcripts.


  • Minimum of five years litigation law firm experience;
  • Strong written and oral communication skills;
  • Ability to meet deadlines with minimal supervision and to work analytically, as well as independently and as a team;
  • Professional demeanor and superb organizational skills;
  • Ability to quickly and proactively identify and analyze problems, develop solutions and deliver results;
  • Available to work overtime regularly and as needed to meet demands of the position;
  • Positive attitude and a team player; and
  • Ability to travel for trial in January 2019.

Your Responsibilities Include:

• Working with clients and outside counsel to coordinate both domestic and international trademark renewals

• Docketing next renewal and action due dates

• Participating in conference calls with clients, colleagues, and outside counsel

Your Qualifications:

• Undergraduate degree with either a paralegal certificate or a minimum of three years of experience under the supervision of a trademark lawyer or as part of a corporate trademark department
• At least three to five years of previous trademark paralegal experience is mandatory for this opening
• Experience with legalizations and authentications of legal documents at both state and federal level will be helpful
• Notary Public for the State of Illinois is preferred
• Excellent organizational skills required
• Must be willing to take initiative to ensure completion of tasks; proactive, team player, and able to work productively under pressure
• Strong written and oral communication skills required
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and track extensive deadlines
• Computer proficient, with good knowledge of IP docketing systems (CPI, IP Master/Manager, Foundation IP, etc.) as well as MS Office applications
• Must have good interpersonal skills and be able to work independently as well as closely with team members

Part-Time Paralegal Position – Wheaton

CaptureThe McCormick Law Firm is a Boutique Real Estate law firm in Wheaton Illinois. We are looking for a part-time paralegal to work 20 to 25 hours per week. This position will become full time (40+ hours in the next year). Most days/hours will be remote.

Some real estate experience is preferred but not required. We are willing to train the right person.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Coordinating due diligence for residential real estate transactions
  • Reviewing and summarizing title commitments and surveys.
  • Working closely with title companies to clear title and obtain title policies.
  • Preparing and filing a variety of documents, including but not limited to, deeds, bill of sale, affidavit of title and attorney modification letters.
  • Preparing closing checklists and coordinate the closing process for residential real estate transactions
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Skills

  • 1-3 years of real estate experience (preferred). Again – we will train the right candidate.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to self-start
